World Book Day - Philip Womack Visit7th March 2018
On Thursday 1st March to celebrate World Book Day, Philip Womack, our Patron of Reading, battled through wind and snow to do some creative writing workshops with students in Years 7 and 8. During the session the students created their own mythological worlds where characters such as Harry Potter and Percy Jackson would meet up. We also have a topical session about snow where students were asked to think about what snow actually was, and we had the following weird and wonderful ideas such as it is the moon's dandruff, it’s a snow troll sneezing and it’s an ice dragon's breath. It was a brilliant session, and brilliant way to celebrate World Book Day.
