Exam & Key Stage Results
Key Stage 4
We are pleased with the performance of our Year 11 students.
This year 49% achieved a 9 to 4 in English and Maths compared with the DfE published figure of 31% A* to C in English and Maths. The improvement in this basics measure within one year is substantial. However, there is still much work to be done to ensure that all students achieve the best that they can in all thier subjects.
Despite the changes to the grading system in English and Maths a number of students achieved the highest levels. Some of our top performing students were Libby Meredith with 2x9s, 2A*, 4As, 1B and a 6. Harry Simons achieved; a 9, 2x8s, 1A*, 4As and 2B grades. Chevene Lyew with a 9, 2A*s, 5As and 2 level 7s. Lastly Aron’s results are even more remarkable because he spoke very little English when he joined the school. This shows what can be achieved through hard work and determination. His results are 3A*s, 3x8s, 2As and D.

Key Stage 5
Top grades (A*-B) this year have increased significantly by over 10% to 49%, ensuring that more of our students than ever are able to go to the university of their choice. This coupled with outstanding vocational results which has seen 94% of entries at Distinction or Distinction* grades means that The John Roan Sixth Form has indeed proved that it is an excellent Post 16 Centre in Greenwich for pupils of all backgrounds to make great progress and achieve their best.
We would like to congratulate all our students for their hard work and their well-deserved results and look forward to hearing about their future successes and the positive difference they go on to make in the wider world.
